Yeah, it sort of has to take place in an adjacent dimension to be an adventure movie with a contained narrative arc (never POB's specialty). I think it was almost more disconcerting just because in some of the snips of dialogue taken directly from the books the characters come through so clearly, but everything is then stitched together in another way. But I suspect I'll like it more than I already do when I'm not so fresh off the books that I'm compare-and-contrasting at every turn, haha. And now I can informedly wade into FFN's section for it! … I have made my bed.

Hollom's arc is brutal, and in retrospect I'm almost glad that I chunked it out just because I would have been way more upset otherwise. That scene under the hold where they salute him, god.
